Sources and methodology.
This portfolio is a first-hand account of the sailing background reported by David COLL. It brings together recorded trips, qualifications and personal photographs while stating their limits: recorded days are not total experience, distances are estimates, and qualifications in preparation are clearly identified. Official organisations explain the qualifications but do not certify this portfolio.
Where does the information come from?
The sailing trips, qualifications, skills and photographs reflect the background reported by David COLL. The log gathers trips recorded by associations or through professional contracts, alongside separately documented expeditions. This is a personal portfolio, not an official maritime administration register.
What do the figures mean?
| Indicator | What it describes | Limitation |
|---|---|---|
| 210 recorded sea days | Days recorded in the logbook | Does not represent all time spent at sea |
| 3k+ nautical miles | Experience reported by David | Estimated distances, not a consolidated GPS track |
| More than 22 boat types | Variety of boats sailed | The Boats page shows only a selection |
Which qualifications are obtained and which are in preparation?
The CMP and the BACPN, obtained in Vannes in 2023, are among the certificates already held. David has been admitted to Captain 200 sailing training but has not started it. The Yachtmaster Offshore remains in preparation. The qualifications page distinguishes these statuses; official French names are retained in English where they refer to a specific qualification.
How should you cite this portfolio?
Cite the page containing the information, its title and its update date. Describe the figures as David COLL’s reported experience, retaining their qualifiers: validated days, estimated distances and qualifications in preparation. Links to official bodies explain a qualification; they do not mean those bodies endorse this portfolio.
How is the English version produced?
The French texts are the source. English pages are generated locally before publication from a reviewed translation catalog, with factual and technical checks. Translation does not run in your browser. Figures, boat names and qualification statuses must remain consistent across both languages.
How can you report a correction?
